The aim of this course is to make students understand everything God did for us isdone through his Son, Jesus Christ. Students will learn that God has planned since the time of creation thatwe are to share eternal happiness with him, and is accomplished through theredemptive act of Jesus Christ. Thiscourse will al introduce what it means to be a disciple of Christ and what lifea disciple must experience today in carrying out the mission of JesusChrist. Students will accomplish this byexploring 7 areas of interests: (1) TheGoodness of Creation and Our Fall from Grace, (2) The Promise of a Messiah,(3) Christ Our Light: RedemptionUnfolds, (4) Redemption Through the Paschal Mystery, (5) Moral Implications forthe Life of a Believer, (6) Prayer in the Life of a Believer, (7) Challengesthat the 21st century students will have to face in answering question such as: “Why would God the Father allow his Son,Jesus, to suffer and die the way he did? Why are followers of Jesus Christ sometimes so willing to makesacrifices and to accept pain and suffering, especially in witness to Christand their faith? Isn’t making sacrifices and putting up with suffering a signof weakness? In the end, isn’t it really only the final result that matters?”
